  • My friend Tawny from high school needs our help

I have copied and pasted the information below. Tawny and I went to school together, we both lead lives that are very involved with the Military. As most of you all know, my children's dad is an active duty Marine. I would hope that the same kind of effort and prayer would go into effect for my children's dad as they have for Joe Houston. Please lift all these people involved in your prayers!!! Joe's finacee' Jenn posted on her facebook status: No sign of my beloved- the Lord has veiled him. We know he's not with the plane & wherever he is, his helmet & vest are with him!

It just breaks my heart! Pray that these friends who are searching (All volunteers) do not grow weary (ISAIAH 40:31)

    End Time:
    Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 12:00pm
    Location:
    Corpus Christi (San Jose Island)
    Description
This is the status for tomorrow. There may be changes for Thursday and the rest of the week. We will send out an updated email as we have information.

    Dear Friends,

Thank you for all being involved with this and showing your interest. Here's what we came up with at the meeting. There will be two groups going out tomorrow. One at 8AM and the other at noon. The ferry over to San Jose Island leaves promptly at those times so be there at 7:30AM or 11:30AM. The 8AM crew will be grouped when we meet at the ferry. The noon group needs to go over on the ferry without being grouped. Someone (probably Nicole) will be waiting to put you in a group when you get on the island. Let me know if you plan on going and what time so we have a general idea of how many people and also there are a few people who need rides. My email is nhimitrust@yahoo.com
There is a $12 roundtrip fee per person for the ferry (we are working on getting the fee reduced).
The meeting place to get on the ferry:
    Fisherman's Wharf
    900 Tarpon St.
    Port Aransas, TX 78373
You will be grouped into 5's with one leader and designated to one search area to ensure that we don't duplicate. The leader will have a GPS and maps. Please let someone know if you have medical experience before being grouped.
This is a beachy/marshy/heavy brush island. Please dress accordingly. Long pants, hiking boots, bright colored shirt (so that you're visible to your group and Joe), and something reflective if possible. Please be prepared by bringing:
    -backpack
    -whistle
    -hat
    -sunscreen
    -bugspray
-water (1 gallon per person in bottles, not jugs)
    -food/snacks for yourself
    -cell phone
    OPTIONAL ITEMS
    -binoculars
    -GPS
    -first aid kit
If anybody has a mountain bike please bring it. We need them to send people further down the island. You can take your bike on the ferry but no motorized vehicles.

We need food/snacks and water to pass out to the volunteers. Please contact Tawny Novosad if you'd like to help with food. 361-876-8969 or tawnynovosad@yahoo.com

We also are trying to raise money to help pay for the ferry, gas, and other search expenses. You can email myself or Tawny if you can help in this area.

Matt Kavanagh is the point person for search planning. 610-905-5085

Please email me (Amy Warner) if you're going to search and let me know what time. 361-334-6703 or nhimitrust@yahoo.com

If anybody has access to boats, jet skis, helicopters, or other means of search transportation please let us know.

We do have offers for babysitting if needed. Again, please let us know.

PASS THIS ON! The more people we can get helping, the more area can be covered. Please forward this email. Thanks again and anything you can do is greatly appreciated.

    Blessings,
    Dave and Amy Warner
    Matt Kavanagh and Nicole Lamberti
    Nick and Tawny Novosad
    and many more

  • Well, where to begin?

I've been back in college for some time now. It's been such a tough, tough, tough struggle finishing college at the same time raising kids by myself, tending to them and their sports (Soccer and Football games) and running a household, AND WORKING. But God has provided yet so much and has never failed me. Praise be Jesus. I also have had a lot of good support from friends and family. I truly appreciate it. One of them, my biggest supporters, is an avid Xanga blogger... Clintspirations. Thanks for being there!

Please pray for my family. There are things going on that I really can't say on here, but we would appreciate prayers for strength, wisdom, healing, and peace that surpasses all understanding!

Also for my dad- believe it or not, he's still alive. A few months ago, Drs said he only had about 2 months left in him. But as always, that's always been up to God.

Xanga has gone through quite a bit of changes! I don't know if I like it but I'll give it a chance.

More to come later. We are setting up for a Halloween party this weekend- three of us are Co-Hosting a mixed Deaf and Hearing guest party. It'll be so much fun. The majority will be from our ministry at church. It's gonna be great.

I'll be sure to share pictures soon. I have gotten my costume together in the cheapest way possible and it is gonna totally transform me into this character from one of my favorite tv shows and NOBODY is gonna recognize me (the real Amy)..... :)

    I'm stoked!

    Have a blessed day y'all!

  • Prayers please.

Last month I went out with my Deaf Ministry for a leadership convention and retreat at Isaiah's Place

Here are some pictures of the log cabin and Bunk Barns we slept in for three nights, and of our convention meeting room (tables out in the open now as shown in video below, wow)- There's damages from the storm two nights ago:

The Deaf Edge Ministry Leaders from WoodsEdge at the Cross at Isaiah's Place.
(L-R) Kristi, Jono, Clint, Mandy, PJ,  Doug, Rose, and me.

Isaiah's Place is shown at the VERY beginning of this video (be sure to rewind it as it auto starts when you enter my page). Praise God all the horses and animals are fine and Diane (founder and owner) wasn't home when the storm blew through. This storm hit us here in the south eastern part of Tx and went all the way up to Oklahoma!  Isaiah's Place was right in the middle its path in central Tx. If any of you locals have any free time and have a heart to help a deaf ministry out, we would love to have your help with cleanup out there. Contact me for info.

  • Happy Birthday X-Daddy!

God has truly blessed me. You have been there for me in more ways than my real dad has. (Not trying to be mean, it is a fact here).  Thank you for always being there for me.  May this be the happiest and most blessed Birthday!

    Love in Christ,
    SP
