I know I have not blogged lately. Just too much going on. I probably won't get back to blogging on a regular basis until next summer, now that I'll be back to attending on-campus classes in college starting Jan 12th (Hybrid classes, not internet classes only). Who knows. We'll see how things work out.
My dad is on the brink of death. His body is just rotting away
literally, his leg looks like it has gangrene (all red and purple and swollen), his belly is just so swollen from his liver failure, brain tumors, etc blahblah (all the effects from AIDS).
We also lost a longtime family friend of ours, JACK, a couple days before Christmas, he is still in the morgue! He was a very much needed repair guy for my mom's company, so she not only lost a good friend but a very good dependable employee also. So she's doing double with her work as well as David, (my brotha from anotha motha).
The holidays have kept us busy and no time to really think too much, praise God :) The kids did
not get to see their dad for Christmas because he was in North Carolina with his wife's family, but he
finally flew home last night in the
World's Deadliest Conventional Weapon.... the AC-130 (and surprisingly, Fox News did a report about them today!)
(Yeah, he literally flew back to Dallas, Tx in one of those because he is a Marine and hey, whatever is free, he'll fly in it plus he works with that type of aircraft nowadays, no more Huey gunships or Cobra choppers).

So TOMORROW- he is supposed to pick up the kids and they'll celebrate New Year's together. I was invited to four different NYE parties but I'll be going to the one nearest my house... I really don't want to share the road with drunk drivers! LOL plus some of my closest friends will be there, so.. :) See y'all soon!
Hope your Christmas was the happiest and most blessed ever!
Happy New Year!

I'm sorry that your dad is like that. We went trhough that with my fil in sept of 2000 and my husband said that I was lucky that my dad died fast-well,since it had been 5yrs since my dad died I wasn't as hurt as I would have been cause a little time had gone by. They were both 71yrs old and now I see old men and wish my dad and fil were still with us of course.
I woke up every morning and my first thought was "my dad is gone."
@jillcarmel - my dad is only 48, lol... though he looks 78 now.
yes, I know that is why I got on xanga cause I was lost without my best friend Kathy and she died in 2006 at 55yrs old and we were friends from 8th grade and she looked 75yrs old before the disease took her.
SP,
Good Morning!!!! Happy New Year to you, and, as YOU said about CHRISTMAS, I pray your NEW YEAR will be "the happiest and most blessed ever"!!! I pray that college will go WELL for you, and BTW that's great how you selected WHICH New Year's Eve party to GO to!!! You're always in my prayers.

Wasn't sure if I had yet told you that I'll have to postpone my TX visit...I had to change locations on the conference I'm going to...sadly!!! I was REALLY looking forward to coming and meeting you in person, but I do expect to be headed West this summer or late spring, and hopefully we can meet up then!!!
And I wanted you to know that I'm praying for your dad and for you and the rest of your family. Keep us updated when you're able.
Love you, sis!

I've been remiss about visiting your site, for which I am sorry Amy. A belated Happy New Year despite all the misfortune around you and your family. You are in my prayers.
(Personally, something you wrote brought back a lonely memory for me. My children were 3 and 5 years old when their father finally left (the second time) and never returned. Erik wanted to have a visit with his dad...as a Christmas present. His father never came to see him until I tracked him down and wrote to him...eleven years later. Christmas is important to children ...having Mommy and Daddy and Santa and Grandparents and Cousins around them.) My children had none of that at Christmas time....but they tell me today..."life with you mom was a lovely adventure!"
Bless you and all the positive things you accomplish! GraceAnn
